New stuff

Since my last post, we had the 4th of July! I spent it with family and had a little party that was also a mini HS Grad party for my uncle. On Tuesday Lacara (http://www.facebook.com/PorcelainDawn) and I got together for another shoot. Last time we shot on an overpass and she had some cool fishnets and we made some awesome photos. This time we played with some colorful makeup and took advantage of the sun.

Oh and my best friend Caroline, who I did marternity photos with... She had her little boy on the 10th!  So excited for her & can't wait to meet him :)  & take photos of him!

Maternity Shoot

Last Tuesday I had one of my favorite shoots to date. It was a maternity shoot with my best friend, Caroline. The morning started off crummy and grey. But by the time I left work the sun started to peek through the clouds with some hope. By the time I got up to Stanwood, the sun was shining and I was getting so anxious! First we took some photos in the baby's room. Oh!  & the baby is a little boy :)  Caroline has 3yr old Kennedi who likes to call the baby her "Monkey Parker". Adorable!

After finding a few outfits we got started, she was a natural! She didn't think she was going to be a good model, not knowing what to do...Psh! She has always been beautiful and as a mama to be (for the second time), even more lovely!










After Kennedi woke up from her nap & Ivan, the daddy to be ( for the second time) was ready to go, we headed out to their yard for some photos. & can I just say, thank goodness for sun! I love the sunshine :)

Aren't they a great looking little family?!?!?   They make my heart smile so much <3




We took some great photos, little miss had fun running around, talking and playing in the grass and then we headed off to Camano Island! What a nice drive it was too, windows down with the fresh cool air blowing through, what a great start to summer. We arrived at the State Park and what a view! The water was gorgeous, the sun was beautiful!

Quick post

New favorite thing, Drifting. Evergreen Drift has been so much fun already and I can't wait for the next event, 2 weeks from now! Ack, I don't know how I will last!

Shoots and more shoots!

In the past week and a half I have had 3 photoshoots! That makes me so happy, you don't even know :)  & tomorrow is Drift School at Evergreen speedway in Monroe, so I will be shooting there as well!

Oh how I love what I do!! Such beautiful ladies, and I noticed, more tattooed than most the girls I have worked with. Which is awesome cause I love tattoos :)

Time

The past few days have been some of the roughest in my life. My great grandmother, or my Mother Lois as I use to call her, is coming close to he end of her time...
Today some photos were brought out and showed her in her younger years. It is so nice to see her playing softball, lounging and living life. For many years, she has had to use crutches and the past few years, a electric wheelchair, not having the strength to walk. As her body weakens, the past few weeks she was in the hospital, not able to leave her bed. Since she has been home she has stayed the same. Now she is worse. & I don't know what will happen.


I am so thankful for all of the times I have had with her, and all of the pictures we have together. On thanksgiving we took a picture together, and then yesterday when she was sleeping I had my mom take a picture of me holding her hand. (I will post it when I get to a computer).

Time is short. An hour can go by so fast. Or crawl on like a snail. Be thankful for what you have, don't take the time you have with your loved ones for granted.

Valenbirthday

What is a Valenbirthday you ask?  Well it is when it is Valentines Day, and also my birthday! :)  Mhm, Valentines Baby right here. Yes it is kind of awesome, and kind of not at the same time.

But yes, you are here for photos! So here they are :)

For breakfast we had crepes and since I had cake at my party a few days earlier, we put the 24 candles (Yes! A whole pack of candles!!) into this donut that I made :)

& I am so happy I was able to do a few Valentines shoots for others, I had so much fun with the little details and sharing this holiday. Valentines day seems to be such a controversial day, I'm glad to say that I have been pretty happy about it most my life. Being my birthday, I've always tried to make it a good one. & true, not everyone can always have a sweetheart on V-day, but it's good to take time out for those you love, care about, and those who are in your heart.   

Those "secret photos"

Sometimes I take pictures that I immediately  fall in love with, and I am so crazy about them, I'm afraid to post them online so that no one else steals them. Silly? Maybe. But sometimes the camera, myself and whatever I'm shooting, just make it work. The above photo was taken a bit before one of these amazing shots was taken. I found a photo challenge online and for todays, it was "hands". So I grabbed my brother real quick and took about 20 photos of them, and a handful of them are super.
